The state and prospects for the development of agri-food wholesale markets

Abstract
Polish agricultural policy up to the year 2000. Agricultural market should become a main link between our economy and the economic system functioning in European Union countries. Modernisation of the agri-food market requires a complex system with: - an organ i sed chain of wholesale markets on major urban agglomerations and production regions, - introduced standardised agri-food products; - organised market information; - more and higher capacity of cold storage plants, warehouses and storerooms. At present there is a pilot programme for wholesale market construction in 5 major Polish cities.
