Assets Impact on the Development of Family Farms under Market Economy Conditions

Abstract
Due to the systemic transformation in Poland after 1989, the farmers and their holdings faced new economic and financial situation, which limited the development possibilities for many of them. Under generally unfavorable environment, farmers found that a crucial factor affecting both the scope and directions of the changes undergoing on the farms is their starting position in terms of the value of possessed assets, which is confirmed by the results of the research conducted.
