Abstrakt
The economic crisis resulted in attempts to speed up the process of consolidation of public finances in the European Union. The purpose of this article is to determine the scale and nature of changes in the level of national state aid allocated to agriculture in recent years by the EU member states. The main source of data used on the types and scale of domestic agriculture aid granted by Member States of the EU in the period 2005–2010 was the European Commission. In the first part of the article the principles of aid for agriculture in the EU are discussed. Then the scale of support for this sector is presented. In the last part of the paper changes in the amount of support recorded in recent year are described.
