Zmiany sytuacji dochodowej gospodarstw indywidualnych prowadzonych przez rolników o zróżnicowanym wieku

The study presents findings regarding relations between the age of farmers and their income. The analysis was based on survey of 369 family farms carrying agricultural bookkeeping in 1989-1994. Overall, findings indicate that the financial situation of farms operated by younger farmers is much better than of those operated by older farmers. During 1984-1994 income of older population declined most rapidly. There is a noticeable relation between the farmer's age and the level of accumulation. The capital formation, as part of income of the younger farmers, dropped 2.5 times in the above period. The older farmers not only did not accumulate but their farms were faced by necessity of fixed capital consumption.
