Abstract

Competitiveness of farms in the European Union has resulted from the implementation of the CAP measures. Analysis of some competitiveness indicators shows that in the "Black Kujawy" region, the competitive commodities are cereals and oilseed, while the animal products and sugar beet are not competitive. Proposed criteria for recognising farm as competitive, according to the "European agriculture model", are fulfilled by farms with mixed plant production, pig and dairy farms, while the mixed farms cannot reach those requirements. From the point of further increasing competitiveness of farms in the region under consideration, the most favourable will be quick integration with the EU with full implementation of the CAP measures.
