Abstract
The paper presents the problems of the XXI-st century civilisation development under globalisation processes. The work sheds light on new social phenomena, events and crises. Present reality is diversified and cannot share a common trait; the same processes appear different when observed from different perspectives, various sides of the world as well as from particular points of view (e.g. John Gray's viewpoint).
