Abstract
The paper considers some legal, institutional, economic and financial aspects of the real estate market with focus on Poland. Comparative analysis of returns on capital invested in real estate and in foreign exchanges (DEM and USD) has been presented. Results show that in the years 1997-1999, the investment in home properties was relatively the most profitable. Additionally, other benefits resulted from investing in home properties have been discussed, mainly personal income tax deductions. The informative description of the latter has been clearly showed by the Author.
