Abstrakt
The author indicates axiological conditions in economy inherited from the modern age and the disturbing effect of activities undertaken for the sake of these values and proposes an assessment of economic phenomena in an ecological perspective which would require a radical revision of values at the basis of market economy. A truly modern food economy both for health and life requires a necessity to educate consumers aiming at optima! consumption. Optimisation of consumption assumes that there will be no more wastage and food economy will be aiming at healthy quality. This is not easy to achieve but scientists accept it as a challenge, and in some countries under the pressure of public opinion also businessmen and politicians.
